Michigan Sets 100% Clean Energy by 2040 Standard

In November 2023, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed into law a historic clean energy and climate action package, including legislation establishing a 100% clean energy standard. Under this law, Michigan will produce 50% of its energy from renewable sources such as solar and wind by 2030, 60% from renewables by 2035, and 100% from clean energy sources by 2040.
