Senior Associate, Federal & External Affairs

Hayden Flanery is Senior Associate for Federal and External Affairs with the U.S. Climate Alliance, supporting the Alliance’s work to coordinate with the federal government and external partners. Flanery also leads the Alliance resilience policy portfolio and has previously supported the Alliance’s work on natural and working lands. Prior to this role, they spent two years working for the U.S. House of Representatives, on the Budget Committee and for Rep. John Yarmuth’s DC office. Flanery also previously worked in Louisville, Kentucky as a campaign field organizer and social media lead for Rep. Yarmuth’s 2018 and 2020 congressional campaigns; and as a State Lead and Organizing Fellow with the Sunrise Movement, organizing local stakeholders in Kentucky to support a Green New Deal. Flanery holds B.A.s in Political Science and Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics, with a focus in comparative climate policy and political economy.
